Review GEMINI Compressor Stressor Fet Adr Vintage Vocal Compex Uk Easyrider Mp3 Sample 70s Ledzep Drums Rooms Guitars

The Compressor Stressor Gemini FET ADR Vocal Compex is a versatile and high-quality audio processing tool that is perfect for any musician or audio engineer looking to add a unique and vintage sound to their mixes. This compressor is modeled after the legendary 1176 Limiter/Compressor, but with the added benefit of the Gemini FET ADR technology, which allows for accurate and easy-to-use automatic de-essing and leveling.

The Gemini FET ADR Vocal Compex features a wide range of adjustable parameters, including threshold, ratio, attack, release, and make-up gain. The unit also includes a side-chain high-pass filter, which allows for fine-tuning of the compression effect based on the frequency content of the input signal. Additionally, the compressor has a "Stress" mode, which adds a subtle distortion to the signal, giving it a gritty and aggressive tone that is reminiscent of the 70s and 80s.

One of the standout features of the Gemini FET ADR Vocal Compex is its ability to seamlessly switch between vocal and instrument modes. This means that you can use the same unit to process both vocals and instruments, without having to worry about adjusting settings or switching between different devices. The compressor also includes a "Easy Rider" mode, which simplifies the user interface and makes it easier for beginners to get started with compression.

To help you get a better sense of the sound of the Gemini FET ADR Vocal Compex, we have included a MP3 sample of a classic 70s Led Zeppelin drum track, processed through the compressor. You can hear how the compressor adds a punch and clarity to the drums, while still maintaining their natural character and dynamics. This sample also showcases the compressor's ability to handle a wide range of instruments, from drums to guitars.

Overall, the Compressor Stressor Gemini FET ADR Vocal Compex is a powerful and versatile tool for anyone looking to add a vintage and gritty sound to their mixes. Its easy-to-use interface, wide range of adjustable parameters, and seamless switching between vocal and instrument modes make it an excellent choice for both beginners and experienced audio engineers. And with the included MP3 sample, you can hear for yourself the unique and powerful sound of the Gemini FET ADR Vocal Compex.

Pros of buying a Compressor Stressor Gemini FET ADR Vocal Compex 70s/80s EasyRider 1176 MP3 Sample Library:

1. Authentic sound: This library offers a collection of vintage compressors that were popular in the 70s and 80s, providing you with a rich and authentic sound that is hard to replicate with modern equipment.

2. Versatility: With various compressors and samples from different eras, this library is highly versatile. It can be used for a wide range of instruments, including drums, guitars, and vocals, making it a great investment for any music producer.

3. Easy to use: The MP3 format of the samples allows for easy integration into your DAW, making it easy to use and manipulate.

4. Cost-effective: Compared to purchasing and maintaining multiple vintage compressors, this library is a more cost-effective solution for achieving the desired vintage sound.

Cons of buying a Compressor Stressor Gemini FET ADR Vocal Compex 70s/80s EasyRider 1176 MP3 Sample Library:

1. Limited flexibility: While the library offers multiple compressor samples, it may not provide the same level of flexibility as using a physical compressor.

2. Quality of samples: The MP3 format may not provide the highest quality of audio, and some users may prefer other formats, such as WAV, for higher resolution and better sound quality.

3. Lack of customization: Since the samples are pre-recorded, you may not have the same level of customization as with a physical compressor, such as adjusting attack, release, and ratio settings.

Conclusion:

The Compressor Stressor Gemini FET ADR Vocal Compex 70s/80s EasyRider 1176 MP3 Sample Library is a great investment for music producers looking to achieve a vintage sound without the cost and maintenance of multiple physical compressors. Its versatility, ease of use, and cost-effectiveness make it a valuable tool in any music production arsenal. However, if you require more flexibility, higher audio quality, or customization options, you may want to consider other options. Ultimately, the best choice depends on your specific needs and preferences as a music producer. I would recommend trying out a demo to ensure that this library meets your requirements before making a purchase.

Also a bigger room is needed to give a zep sound.

Also one commented said its not hi fie. Condition, etc works and sounds great.

The next mod is the output level controls that came stock on these units were hidden as recessed trim pots adjusted thru a small hole the front panel with a mini screwdriver, so now those trumpets have been made into full size controls brought out to the front panel, using authentic adr knobs, to allow easy control, and again look stock again. Keeps the high freq excitement, and adds to it, like an 1176 does.

Stereo likable or dual mono, adr were the makers of the compex and vocal stressor fet compressors. Bentham was in a large hallway w staircase.

Works perfect and sounds great all around, but like most all adr gear has a little quirk, in that the meters sometimes flash or jump a bit when you turn the comp ratio control at certain settings. The above Wave clip is not mine. Preservation sound.

You're not gonna get a zep sound from a dynamite or old DX, etc. Maybe that's what the commented was talking about. Great for use in board insert send return loops which are unbalanced.

The unit is line level unbalanced in and out, as are stock with these units. Only around 5/8 db reduce at 3/1 so pretty gentle. Slight tarnish on back panel but still readable lettering note that adr labelled the inputs outputs as I PO to save space.

Board high end adr Gemini easy rider vs compex vs Urey 1178 a the stock faster ranges are kept, from full down left counterclockwise to halfway on the attack knob, and then extra variable longer attack times are from halfway to full up right clockwise on the attack knob. The mods make this the best adr Gemini easyrider out there. If you want to use XLR it will still be unable XLR, so just use an adapter cable from 1/4 unable to XLR wired pin 2 hot, and pin 3/1 ground.

The Gemini uses the same feats and essential circuit as the other units, but in one rack space without those other units extra bells whistles such expanded, eq big analog meters which made them 2 rack spaces. 6981 the mods the original unbalanced screw terminals were changed to 1/4 jacks, also unbalanced. That's not really true.

The guy didn't use enough in my opinion to really show what this unit can do when at it's best not a dark dirty compressor like the boringly common trendy valley dynamite. Excellent overall very clean condition front, top, bottom sides. What it does do is really slams fast in an aggressive open way that's dramatic.

Turning the comp ratio a bit slower makes the meters not jump. Wave sample here farther down he calls it the squishy box and the clip squishy room. The adr kills the dynamite and others of that ilk. The last and best mod was the stock attack time now allows for longer attack times for more punch, while also keeping the stock fast times.

He starts with the compressor on, then bypasses it out at 11 secs. I would have used lots more compression to smash it more, as to slam a room I use about double what he did, at least 10 reduce or more. Great unit for compex stressor type uk fet compression, and the very usable mods are the icing on the cake, making it the best Gemini easyrider out there.

Same type uk made 1/4 jacks were used that match the stock black 1/4 side chain insert jacks, for a stock look. You dont lose any highs or lows even with 10db or more gain reduction, so is very natural freq wise.

Also note these units have an semi auto makeup gain, so the output level stays pretty even regardless of ratio, but at more extreme compression settings, the output control mod allows finer control than the auto makeup gain circuit provides, which is why the output controls were brought out to proper front panel knobs instead of the stock recesses ed trim pots, which is a common popular mod done on these units. Sales sheet specs found here as PDF file from 1979 catalog drum room only, no overheads or close mics As you probably know, great on drum overheads room mics Ala zep's levee breaks which used compex plus electric guitar, snare and more. Rare uk vintage adr audio design recording Gemini easyrider fet vintage compressor limiter, late 70s early 80s era.

Adr's way faster more open exciting edgy and zep like. It did this before the mods as well, so is not due to the mods, so is probably a design quirk like many other adr units I have had that did odd things at certain settings. Stereo likable or dual mono. Quick and crisp, but not lo fie either.

Those controls are the 2 light blue color ones that are unlabelled. Sounds like this guy was in a small basement room. People have said these units are really almost too fast on the attack, even at slowest setting, so wished they could have the option of slower times too for more punch and musicality.
