Class a discrete transistor circuitry with output transformer gives a distinctive sound overall. The input controls are on knobs rather than the original screwdriver adjusts. The power supply has been recapped with quality Prague caps. This is a working unit.

The release time has been brought out to the front panel for easy operation, and there is a choice of 4 release times, 2 of them much faster than the original design, and more suited for modern production. This thing has plenty of gain available and plenty of compression, with crunchy possibilities as you bring in more gain on the input levels. New light bulbs and cool red knobs.

Much nicer to operate. The compression was designed for stereo program material, though this is suitable for individual instruments too. Here is a stereo Cbs audimax BTW I can do these mods on your unit or sell you the plans to do it. We left the original audio caps in because they are tantalum and are still working well.
