I've had a few of these and this one has the desirable adjustable level on front otherwise only way to attenuate very extreme limiting effect is pad down mic inline or move it away from source. Selling an original share m-62 level loc. That said, these are pretty basic units so I will include a schematic with the sale of unit should it require repair.

This one was passing signal awhile back when I went to test it but its sat for over a year and i'm in the middle of move have no way tell current working or not state.
