Review UNIVOX 1970s Vintage Pro Tank Read Spring Verb U3r
This one's been kicking around on the work tables of a couple of local guitar hackers for a while now and has never been put back together. Plug it in, and the led lights up and you hear audio from the onboard preamps, but if you don't have another u3r to work with, it's a bit tricky to fix, because it isn't exactly obvious where to solder in the replacement tank. This could be a huge deal for the right person. All fades work, but there is of course one fade with a broken shaft, and the knob for this fade is long gone.
I will not warrant that this will work as soon as you wire in a proper replacement tank. That should be all it needs just a new tank soldered to the right contact points to get this back into action. The fade still works though. But i've had enough experience reviving stuff like this from the dead to be about 90 confident that this is all it will need.
In working condition, these have sold for several hundred dollars, and a matching replacement spring tank can probably be had for about 30. This is being sold as is, and you get everything shown here case, chassis and mounting hardware for the chassis I warrant that this behaves as I claim here.
